Over the past 10 years, our apprenticeship scheme has led the way, with more than 95% of our apprentices’ gaining employment with the trust or wider NHS. When you join our Apprenticeship scheme, we will work with you. in partnership, to help develop your skills and support you in securing a great future with us. You will be:
● Working alongside experienced staff
● Gaining job-specified skills
● Earning a wage and getting holiday pay
● Studying towards a related qualification
Above all your contribution will be valued as part of a team, where every member recognises and supports every other member, whatever their role.
As part of the Northumbria Way, apprentices at Level 2 onwards may work in a variety of different roles in hospitals, the community and in office environments, across Northumberland and North Tyneside.

WHERE COULD AN APPRENTICESHIP TAKE YOU?
Our apprentice scheme is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted. If you join our scheme, we will help you gain the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours vital to your future role in one of the following areas:
● Health care
● Social care
● Business administration
● Customer service
● Estates
● Facilities
In return, we ask you to show your motivation, willingness to work, learn, and above all be caring and compassionate.
As a Northumbria Healthcare apprentice you will follow a detailed induction programme learning about the trust and your role in providing high quality, patient-centred care; no matter which apprenticeship programme you follow.
During the programme, you will receive valuable on-the-job training, while you earn. On completion, you will receive a formal apprenticeship qualification.
We also offer similar apprenticeship development opportunities to our existing staff, making continuous professional development available to everyone.
